What is Catrafting? Catrafting, simply put, is an inflatable
craft with two pontoons. The two pontoons are held together with an
aluminum frame. The floor of a catraft is unique, as it is made of mesh.
This allows the waves to not only saturate the front and sides of the
raft, but also the floor! A catraft is a stable craft. The Alpine Team
spent time 'researching' the catraft with many, many happy 'test cases'.
We found the catraft to be an ideal craft for the big waters of the
Kicking Horse, and a great compliment to our current fleet.
How do we sign up for catrafting? The easiest way to book Catafting is to book here, online.
What trips are available in the Catraft and what is the cost? The
Kicking Horse River Challenge, and the Ultimate Whitewater are
available in the Catraft. The Cost is $10 above the regular cost of
these trips. So, the Kicking Horse Challenge in the Catraft would be
$159, and the Ultimate Whitewater in the Catraft would be $129.

When you book Catrafting for the Kicking Horse River Challenge trip it will depart at 9:30AM and includes all three sections of the Kicking Horse River the Upper, Middle, and Lower. The Kicking Horse River Challenge also includes a Riverside BBQ Lunch and a Snack. It returns to our office at approximately 4:30PM.
When you book Catrafting for the Ultimate Whitewater trip it will depart at 11:45PM and includes the Middle and Lower sections as well as a Snack. It returns to our office at approximately 4:30PM.
Things To Bring
Please bring:
Bathing suit
Towel
Fleece or wool sweater (not made of cotton)
We will provide all your river equipment, including Footwear
Why do I need to bring a sweater? Will it get wet?
We will provide you with a Wetsuit, Neoprene Boots, Goretex Spray
Jacket, Lifejacket and Helmet. We also have neoprene gloves onboard for
your comfort. However, you may want to bring a fleece or wool sweater to
wear as an extra layer of warmth on top of the wetsuit but underneath
the spray jacket. It will get wet.
Inclusions
Includes transportation to & from our office, and all River Gear, including footwear.
Exclusions
Transportation to our office is not included. Clients must meet at our office on the Trans Canada Highway in Golden, British Columbia. A map to our office will be included in your confirmation.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received 72 hours prior to trip departure for full refund of deposit, unless you have purchased supplemental cancellation insurance through us.
When you book, we collect a 50% deposit to reserve your seats. The remaining 50% will be collected the evening prior to your trip departure. If for some reason you 'no-show' on the day of your trip, 50% of your deposit will be refunded to your credit, and the other 50% retained by Alpine Rafting.

Transportation will be provided to and from the river.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
*We are on Mountain Standard Time, same as Alberta.

Directions to the Alpine Rafting Office from the east (Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise):
As you enter Golden on the Trans Canada Highway, on the left hand side there is a large sign for the "Golden Rim Inn". When you see this large sign, take the first right off the Trans Canada Highway, and onto Lafontaine Road. Turn left and proceed around the traffic circle and over the overpass to Goldenview Road. We are located on your right-hand side, in the cabin in between the Mechanic's Shop and the Golden Rim.
Directions to Alpine Rafting Office from the West (Vancouver, Kamloops, Revelstoke):
As you enter Golden on the Trans Canada Highway, continue through two sets of lights on the Highway. Continue past the turnoff into the town of Golden and stay on the highway. Continue up the hill for one kilometre. Just before cresting the hill, take a right onto Golden view Rd. We are located in a cabin between the Mechanic's Shop and the Golden Rim Inn.
